How To Put On Shaft Skinz

Shaft Skinz can be so easy for an experienced clubfitter to put on and take off your could nearly change them like you change your clothes. There are some special points to note though.

Not all hair dryers are the same. Watch the movie to understand what's needed to shrink a Shaft Skinz sleeve.

Applying a Shaft Skinz sleeve (6 mins 17 secs)

Now you have the right hair dryer watch the application movie to see how it's done.

Watch it all the way through as there are special points about drivers and the application of sleeves to putters with no hosel or bends in the shaft.

Removing a Shaft Skinz sleeve (35 secs)

Removing Shaft Skinz sleeves is easy. They can be removed in seconds and leave no residue. You'd never know they'd been there.

The removal from steel or graphite is slightly different so watch the movie to be sure of the correct procedure.

Hairdryers get hot. As such, they can burn you. Always keep your hands as far away from the heat as is possible. But hey, we’re probably overstating in a bit. After all, you point them at your head don’t you?

Take care when handling the shaft at the end of the heating process - it can still carry a lot of heat.

You need to use a sharp knife to trim the excess material away from the shaft. Sharp knives are, well...SHARP! Which means they cut things, including you if you’re not careful. Please be careful - always cut away from the parts of your body you’d like to keep just where they are!
